José Ignacio Castillo (born November 4, 1975 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player who plays in the position of the striker . Born in Argentina, he is also an Italian citizen.

Most recently he was under contract with the traditional Italian club AS Bari .

Career

Castillo started his career in Argentina. There he was discovered by the Italian club FB Brindisi and later engaged in 2001. In Italy he played in Serie C until 2006 when he received his first professional contract with Serie B club Frosinone Calcio . However, he made his breakthrough in Pisa when he scored 21 goals in the 2007/2008 season.

In August 2008 he was signed by US Lecce for 1.5 million euros. In summer 2009 he moved to Fiorentina for 900,000 euros . After only seven missions and one goal scored, he moved to AS Bari in January 2010 . Castillo signed a two-year contract with the Apulians. This was not extended in summer 2012.
