José León Suárez

José León Suárez (born April 20, 1872 in Chivilcoy , † June 7, 1929 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine lawyer , international lawyer and university lecturer.

Life

José León Suárez, born in Chivilcoy , Argentina in 1872 , was involved in the League of Nations , which was founded in 1920 shortly after the end of the First World War and which was dissolved after the Second World War.

In 1898 he was the principal legal advisor to the creation of the Ministry of Agriculture in Argentina. In 1913 Suárez founded the "Facultad de Ciencias Económicas" in Buenos Aires , which he headed as a professor until his death. His main work "Carácter de la revolución americana" was published in 1917.

Posthumously

After his death, a city in Gran Buenos Aires and a station on the "Ferrocarril General Bartolomé Miter" railway line were named after him. The train station, built in 1932 and located 24 kilometers from the Congress, was opened in 1940 in honor of “Doctor José León Suárez”.
