José Longinos Ellauri

José Longinos Ellauri Fernández (born March 14, 1789 in Montevideo , † November 21, 1867 ibid) was a Uruguayan politician and lawyer .

Life

Ellauri was a member of the Asamblea Constituyente y Legislativa del Estado Oriental (1828-1830). In the first legislative period (October 4, 1830 - June 15, 1833) he was a member of the Cámara de Senadores from October 14 to November 10, 1830 as senator for the Canelones Department . He was also from February 17, 1834 a member of the Cámara de Representantes for the Department of Montevideo in the second legislative period (February 15, 1834 - February 14, 1837). In 1835 he also held the position of Vice President of the House of Representatives. He was also Foreign Minister of Uruguay three times in the periods from March 11, 1830 to April 20, 1830, from November 11, 1830 to September 2, 1831 and for the last time from February 6, 1839 to October 19, 1839 .

His son was the future President of Uruguay, José Eugenio Ellauri .
