José María Elorrieta
José María Elorrieta de Lacy (born February 1, 1921 in Madrid ; † February 22, 1974 there ) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter .
Life
Elorrieta began his film career in 1945 with the self-written and directed puppet film La ciudad de los muñecos , which was followed by several documentaries . In his career, which lasted until his untimely death - his last film was completed by Julio Pérez Tabernero - he made fifty-six feature films from 1949 , including numerous dramas and genre films .
He was the founder and leader of various film circles and director of the "Escuela Técnica de Cinematografia".
Elorrieta, who was sometimes referred to as Joe Lacy or Joseph de Lacy for the international use of his films , is the father of director Javier Elorrieta .
