José Medina (cyclist)

José Alfredo Medina Andrade (born August 13, 1973 ) is a former Chilean cyclist .

In 1997, José Medina won the overall ranking of the Vuelta Ciclista Lider al Sur . In 2001 he was first in the French one-day race Paris – Troyes . The next year Medina became a Pan American time trial champion and he won a stage at the Volta Ciclista Provincia Tarragona in Spain. In the 2003 season he won two stages at the Vuelta Ciclista de Chile and one stage at the Vuelta a Zamora. In 2004 Medina won a section of the Vuelta Lider al Sur and in 2007 he became the Chilean time trial champion. In 2009 he won the GP Aniversario CC Talca and in 2010 he won stages of the Triple Vuelta and the Clásica Internacional Ciudad Heroica de Tacna.

In 2011, his doping test at the Vuelta Ciclista de Chile was positive for stanozolol and he was banned for four years.
