José Ortiz Ramos
José Ortiz Ramos (born November 16, 1911 in Tacámbaro , Michoacánin , † December 16, 2009 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican cameraman .
Life
Ortiz Ramos began working as a camera assistant in Mexican film production in the late 1930s. In 1940 he became chief cameraman and by 1992 made almost 250 films of all genres, including some classics of Mexican cinema. He worked twice with Luis Buñuel . He was nominated four times for the Premio Ariel , for El camiño de la vida (1956), La casta divina (1977), Toña Machetes (1985) and for El Maleficio II (1986).
