José Peña

José Peña ( José Gregorio Peña Trejo; born January 12, 1987 in San Cristóbal ) is a Venezuelan obstacle runner .

At the South American Athletics Championships he won bronze in São Paolo in 2007 and silver in Lima in 2009 . In 2009 he also won silver at the Central America and Caribbean Championships and bronze at the Juegos Bolivarianos .

In 2011 he won the Pan American Games in Guadalajara . The following year, a win at the Ibero-American Championships was followed by a preliminary round at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

In 2013 he won the South American Championships in Cartagena , retired from the World Athletics Championships in Moscow and defended his title with the Juegos Bolivarianos.

In 2014 he won the South American Games and took silver at the Central American and Caribbean Games . He finished seventh at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.
