Juegos Bolivarianos

The Juegos Bolivarianos are multisport events in honor of the South American independence fighter Simón Bolívar . They currently take place every four years. The first event was in 1938. Participating countries are Bolivia , Chile , Colombia , Ecuador , Panama , Peru and Venezuela , which joined forces in 1938 to form the Organización Deportiva Bolivariana (ODEBO).
