The Catholic branch church of St. John the Baptist and Michael is a listed church building in Allmus , a district of Hofbieber in the Fulda district ( Hesse ). It belongs to the parish of St. Georg, Hofbieber and belongs to the diocese of Fulda .
History and architecture
The small Gothic rectangular building with a narrower, just closed choir. The east choir dates from before 1500 and was renewed around 1700. A monolithic Romanesque arched window was reused on the north side . The choir is vaulted with a pointed arch barrel. In 1958, wall paintings from the beginning of the 15th century were uncovered. On the south side there are seven apostles and on the north side six female saints and the remains of scenes from Mary . The altar and the west gallery date from around 1700. The altar sheet was made in 1905.
