Allmus is one of 16 districts of the Hofbieber community in the Fulda district in Hesse .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1090.

  • Allmus was first mentioned in 1093 in the market description of the Margaretenhaun parish.
  • In 1354 Konrad von Haisberg owned the bailiwick .
  • In 1369 the von Schlitz and von Eisenbach sold the village to von der Tann and von Ebersberg .
  • In 1423 the Fulda monastery acquired the village or parts of the village from those of Buchenau and others.
  • In 1474 half of the Fulda fiefdom was that of Merlau , and in 1504 that of Windhausen.
  • In 1605 the people from Nordeck zu Rabenau sold half of Almuths to the Fulda monastery.

A chapel of St. John the Baptist is mentioned as early as 1500.

In the Turkish tax register of the abbey of Fulda from 1605 the place is mentioned under the name Almus with 29 families.

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Allmus was incorporated into the municipality of Hofbieber .
