history
Danzwiesen is first mentioned in 1592 as the possession of the von Eberstein family .
In the Holy Week of 1945, shortly before the end of the Second World War , anti-aircraft guns were brought to the heights of Danzwiesen . This was to protect a train from low-flying aircraft that was in the nearby Milseburg tunnel . From there, high-ranking German officers and soldiers tried to organize a counter-resistance against the advancing Americans.
On December 31, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Danzwiesen was incorporated into the municipality of Hofbieber.
