history

Langenbieber was first mentioned in a document as "Biberaha" in 825, so it is the oldest of the three Bieber villages and probably the oldest of the entire municipality. The name of the place has changed several times over the years, so “Biberaha” first became “Obirbibraha” and finally Langenbieber. For a long time Langenbieber lay on the local route of a trade route that dates back to Celtic times.

Attractions

The most famous sight in the community is Bieberstein Castle . The baroque palace , built in 1723 by Fulda's abbot Adalbert von Schleifras as a summer residence, houses a Hermann Lietz school and is run as a boarding school.

Another attraction is the old village center with its half-timbered houses typical of the Kuppenrhön, which are all in good condition thanks to a village renewal program by the State of Hesse.
