Eberstein (Franconian noble family)
Eberstein is the name of an old Franconian ( Buchonian ) noble family with the same name, Eberstein auf der Rhön , which was destroyed in 1282 and which first appeared in documents in 1116 and which began with Heinrich von Eberstein in 1239. In the 16th century the family belonged to the ducal Franconian imperial knighthood in the knight cantons of Rhön-Werra and Baunach .

First in 1453 in Dornburg / Saale and Obertrebra , since 1528 in Gehofen . In 1662 the goods Reinsdorf, Großleinungen and Morungen came into the possession of Field Marshal Ernst Albrecht von Eberstein (1605–1676). Members of the Fruit Bringing Society were Hans Georg von Eberstein and Ernst Albrecht von Eberstein . The von Eberstein auf Gehofen family were related by marriage to the von Rockhausen family on church divorces.
