José Quirante Pineda (born January 1, 1884 in Cox , Spain , † May 30, 1964 in Barcelona , Spain) was a Spanish football player and coach .
Career as a player
He is considered the first player to move from FC Barcelona to arch-rivals Real Madrid . Although he was as a player throughout his career from 1901 to 1912 at the Catalans under contract, he played professional reasons that its presence in Madrid required between 1906 and 1908 at Real Madrid.
Career as a coach
He began his coaching career in Madrid. In the 1928/29 season, he headed Real Madrid in hosting the first Spanish football championship and led them to the runner-up. He won two regional championships with the club before moving to Sevilla FC in 1930 . After three years in the Andalusian capital, several one-year stays at various clubs followed before he ended his coaching career at AD Plus Ultra in 1950 .
