José Orlando Vinha Rocha Semedo (born March 5, 1965 in Ovar ) is a former Portuguese football player . The midfielder was a Portuguese international .

He played for FC Porto from 1983 to 1996 . With the club, he became Portuguese champions in 1985, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1996. He won the cup in 1984, 1988, 1991 and 1994. Porto also won the European Cup in 1987 with 2-1 against FC Bayern Munich and the World Cup , although Semedo was not used there. In April 1996 he was banned for doping with anabolic steroids . From 1996 to 1999 he was under contract with SC Salgueiros and then ended his career.

Semedo was called up to the Portuguese national team a total of 21 times between 1989 and 1995 and scored two goals.
