José António Barreto Travassos (born February 22, 1922 in Lisbon , † February 12, 2002 ) was a Portuguese football player who was mainly in the service of Sporting Lisbon .
At Sporting he formed the legendary attacking formation known as the 'Os Cinco Violinos' (the five violins). He was also appointed national team player and was the first Portuguese to play on the FIFA team in 1955. He ended his successful career on September 7, 1958. He played a total of 457 times for Sporting Lisbon and scored 172 goals.
