Jos Manders
Jos Manders (born March 8, 1932 in Eindhoven , Netherlands , † 1978 in Eindhoven ) was a Dutch sculptor and object and relief artist .
life and work
Jos Manders studied at the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven. His studio and apartment were in Bergeijk near Eindhoven.
Manders mainly created minimalist , monochrome (white) works from plastic , usually from PVC film and polyester . His relief-like objects usually consisted of two parts that interlocked softly, like pieces of a puzzle . The series “ Communicatie ” are best known from these works .
Manders had his first solo exhibition in 1966 at the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. In 1968 he was represented with 5 plastic reliefs at the 4th documenta in Kassel .
