Josanne Lucas

Josanne Lucas (born April 14, 1984 in Scarborough , Tobago ) is a track and field athlete from Trinidad and Tobago , who reached third place in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2009 World Championships .

Lucas was national champion in the 400-meter run in 2005, and in 2006 she won the 100-meter hurdles. Already at the World Championships in 2005 , she took on the 400 meter hurdles, but was eliminated in the qualification. In 2006 she improved her personal best to 55.29 seconds. After that, her performance stagnated, at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 she was eliminated again in the preliminary run. In May 2009, she improved her personal best and the national record to 55.24 seconds. In Berlin at the 2009 World Championships , she improved this best performance by more than two seconds and won the bronze medal behind Melaine Walker and Lashinda Demus in 53.20 seconds .

At a height of 1.62 meters, her competition weight is 56 kilograms.
