Joschija (Tannaite)

R. Joschija (also: Josia , Joschijja ) was a Jewish scholar of antiquity, is counted among the third generation of Tannaites and worked around the middle of the second century AD.

He was one of the foremost disciples of Ishmael , fellow student R. Jonathan and came maybe from Chutsal (Huzal) and settled after the Bar Kochba revolt in Babylonia down (no mention in the Mishna , only Mek and Sifre ).
