Josef Žemlička
Josef Žemlička (born December 1, 1946 in Slaný ) is a Czech historian and university professor. The focus of his work is the history of the Middle Ages .
Career
Žemlička studied archives at Charles University in Prague from 1965 to 1970 . From 1970 he worked at the Historical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic , where he was the head of the Department of Medieval History. From 1991 he teaches at Charles University in Prague. He completed his habilitation in 1998 and was appointed professor of Czech history in 2002. Since 2003 he has been a research assistant at the Center for Medieval Research.
