Withalm was the client and architect of two buildings in the city of Graz :

The Coliseum , completed in 1839 after nine years of construction , was an amusement palace that was unparalleled in the Austrian monarchy for sources from the time. The building, which was gradually expanded, was finally demolished around the turn of the century (19th / 20th). It stood on the site of today's Pestalozzi - grammar school in Graz. In addition, it is said to have temporarily served as accommodation for soldiers and later, until the completion of the new synagogue on the right bank of the Mur , as a house of prayer for the Israelite community in Graz.

Withalm was also the builder and first operator of the Iron House on Südtirolerplatz (then Murvorstadtplatz) in Graz. At the time of its construction (1846) it was an exceptionally sensational building because of its iron construction. The facade of the house is a listed building and has housed the Graz Art House since 2003.

Withalm himself was also the operator of a varnish and varnish factory in Graz and is said to have been successful in all of his ventures.
