Josef Brendle (painter)

Josef Brendle (born March 1, 1888 in Ebersberg ; † February 1, 1954 in Freilassing ) was an academic painter ("painter of the Ruperti angle").

Brendle attended the arts and crafts school and the Royal Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1904 to 1907.

He found his motifs in the area on hikes and day trips or when staying on alpine pastures and in simple quarters in the nearby mountains. He created mountain pictures, nature studies, portraits and local motifs.
