Josef Eder (born May 2, 1942 ) is a former Austrian bobsleigh driver . Together with Reinhold Durnthaler , Herbert Gruber and Erwin Thaler , he took part in the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble . The team won the silver medal in the four-man bobsleigh , while the second team with Manfred Hofer , Karl Pichler , Hans Ritzl and Fritz Dinkhauser only finished 13th.
Eder also competed again at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo , where he was only able to achieve 6th place in the four-man bobsleigh with Herbert Gruber , Utz Chwalla and Josef Oberhauser .
