Josef Eisl (born March 27, 1964 in Abersee near St. Gilgen) is an Austrian agricultural master and politician. From 1997 to 2013 he was a member of the Salzburg state government .

education and profession

Eisl was born as the oldest son of the fabric farmer in Zinkenbach (today Abersee) . He attended elementary and secondary school and then graduated from the agricultural college in Kleßheim . After completing his apprenticeship, Eisl passed the master craftsman's exams for agriculture and forestry and also passed the skilled worker examination for the dairy and cheese industry. As a result, in 1990 he took over his parents' organic farm in Abersee, the Stoffengut. Sheep's milk specialties have been produced on the organic farm for more than 15 years. As part of the Ceres Awards ceremony , he was named Organic Farmer of the Year 2018.

politics

Eisl gained his first political experience in the local council of Sankt Gilgen and in the young ÖVP . Eisl has been in charge of agriculture and forestry, energy, nature conservation, water management, hunting and fishing, building, road and fire protection law since 2004, and on April 22, 2009 he also took over the department for personnel matters and water law. With the inauguration of the state government Haslauer jun. I resigned Eisl as a state councilor.

Private

Eisl is married and has seven children.
