Josef Ferdin

Josef Ferdin (born September 19, 1871 in Sankt Agatha , Upper Austria, † November 11, 1957 in Vienna ) was an Austrian state politician .

Life

Since Ferdin came from a large family of a farrier and wagon blacksmith, he had to leave his parents' house at an early age and found work in the smithy on the Hallstatt salt mountain. He soon joined the Catholic labor movement and was elected in 1919 as representative of the salt works for the Christian Social Party in the Upper Austrian state parliament. He was also a member of the Bad Ischl municipal council . He stayed in the state parliament until 1934. In 1938 the former member of parliament was temporarily detained.
