Josef Frankenberger

Josef Frankenberger (born October 4, 1943 in Rosenheim ) is a German geodesist . From 1998 to 2008 he was head of the “Bavarian Surveying Administration and Information and Communication Technology” department at the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance . His successor in this office is Rainer Bauer.

Life

Frankenberger studied at the universities: Technical University of Munich and Technical University of Graz from 1965 to 1970 geodesy. During his subsequent legal training from 1970 to 1972 he was with the thesis on "The Austrian surveying Act of July 3, 1968 - a critical comparison with the corresponding standards of surveying in the Federal Republic of Germany" doctorate .

After several professional positions, he headed the departments “Surveying and Cadastral Matters, Fee Matters” (1981 to 1983), “Organization and Technology of the Bavarian Surveying Administration” (1983 to 1989) and “Organization, Budget and Personnel of the Bavarian Surveying Administration” at the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance "(1989 to 1998). In 1995 Frankenberger was appointed honorary professor at the Technical University of Munich . From 1998 he headed the department “Bavarian Surveying Administration and Information and Communication Technology” at the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance .

Under the direction of Frankenberger, the Bavarian Surveying Administration transformed into a technically modern authority. The way he shaped was awarded the Speyer Prize in 1996 for “highly efficient organization”. The “Bavarian way in surveying” with the strict separation between private and sovereign tasks was adopted under his leadership.

Frankenberger lives in Rosenheim.
