Josef Gröbmayr

Josef Gröbmayr (born July 12, 1970 in Munich ) is a German violinist and former actor who became famous for the title role in the television series Oliver Maass .

Life

Gröbmayr has been playing the violin since he was five. He had performed in a quartet, as a soloist and in a folk music group in his home country before he was discovered in February 1985. The television producer Bernd Burgemeister was at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich looking for an actor who could play the violin. Gröbmayr, who received weekly violin lessons there, was recommended by his music teacher.

Gröbmayr was released from high school for the shooting of the television series, but he repeated the ninth grade.

In 1986 he was seen again in a supporting role as "Gerd Bühl" in the Police Inspection 1 series.

In 1999 the Münchner Rundfunkorchester introduced him as the new 2nd violinist.
