Josef Höllige

Josef Höllige (born October 31, 1893 in Retz ; † August 28, 1944 in Loriol , France ) was an Austrian politician and dispatcher . Höllige was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1934 to 1938 .

Höllige graduated from high school and did his military service as a one-year volunteer between 1914 and 1918 during the First World War . As a result, he took over his father's business, a bakery and also opened an electric mill. Politically, he was active as a local councilor and was involved in the establishment of the business school in Retz, which opened in 1925. During the time of Austrofascism, Höllige represented the state of agriculture and forestry between November 22, 1934 and March 12, 1938 in the Lower Austrian state parliament. Due to economic problems, Höllige volunteered for service in the German Wehrmacht and fell as a captain in France in 1944.
