Josef Karl

Josef Karl (born June 2, 1922 in Niederrußbach ; † March 8, 1989 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and farmer. From 1972 to 1974 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

Karl attended elementary school and then worked professionally as an unskilled worker in a wine wholesaler. He was drafted into service in 1940 during World War II and served in the army between 1942 and 1945.

After the end of the war, Karl became politically active as a councilor in Niederrußbach from 1950 to 1970 and became the managing council from 1970 to 1990 after the parishes were merged to form the municipality of Russbach . He also worked from 1953 as a member of the state board and from 1965 as a member of the federal board of the labor farmers' union and was its deputy chairman from 1970 to 1983. In addition, from 1965 he was active as a regional chamber councilor. On December 20, 1972, Karl succeeded the resigned Franz Scheidl in the state parliament and was a member of this body until July 11, 1974.
