Rußbach is a municipality with 1409 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Korneuburg district in Lower Austria . It should not be confused with the market town of Großrußbach, which is located around 30 km further east, also in the Korneuburg district .
geography
Russbach is located in the hills of the southern Weinviertel in Lower Austria, around 15 km northwest of Stockerau . The cadastral community Niederrußbach is located on Horner Straße B 4. The area of the community covers 30.56 square kilometers. 21.7 percent of the area is forested.

The community consists of the cadastral communities Niederrußbach, Oberrußbach and Stranzendorf.

history
The community was created in 1970 by amalgamating the former communities Niederrußbach, Oberrußbach and Stranzendorf.
Population development
According to the results of the census in 2001 there were 1,333 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 1214 inhabitants, in 1981 1274 and in 1971 1264 inhabitants.

In 2001 there were 34 non-agricultural workplaces, agricultural and forestry holdings 99 according to the 1999 survey. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment in the place of residence was 631. The 2001 participation rate was 48.46 percent.
