Josef Kleinmeyer

Josef Kleinmeyer also Joseph (born August 15, 1874 in Pfaffendorf ; † January 2, 1936 there ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending the elementary school in Pfaffendorf, Kleinmeyer completed an office apprenticeship, which he completed with the assistant examination. He then worked as an employee of the government in Koblenz , from 1898 to 1899 as an unskilled worker and from 1899 at the district office in Mayen as a clerk for matters relating to the police and disability and pension schemes. From 1900 to 1913 he worked as a tax officer (dietician) for the income tax assessment commission for Koblenz city and country. Subsequently he was a civil servant (office secretary) in the Koblenz government until 1914. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .

After his return, Kleinmeyer continued his work in administration. From 1918 to 1920 he was rate manager at the Koblenz pension authority, after which he was again government secretary.

From 1903 to 1933, Kleinmeyer was a parish and mayor of Pfaffendorf. He joined the SPD in 1918, for which he ran unsuccessfully for the Reichstag in the 1920 Reichstag election. In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged without interruption until the end of the fourth legislative period in 1933. In parliament he represented constituency 21 (Koblenz-Trier).
