Josef Kolský

Josef Kolský (born March 7, 1887 in Ruda u Nového Strašecí , † June 27, 1973 in Prague ) was a Czechoslovak trade unionist and politician .

Life

The metal worker Kolský joined the Social Democratic Party in 1906 , and in 1921 he was one of the founding members of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (CPC). From 1929 to 1932 he was secretary of the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Metal Workers ( Czech Svaz dělnictva kovoprůmyslu ), 1932-1936 representatives of the Czechoslovak Red Trade Unions ( Czech Rudé odbory ) to the Executive Committee of the Red Trade Union International in Moscow . From 1936 to 1938 he was a member of the secretariat of the regional KPTsch leadership in Prague. In September 1938 Kolský emigrated to the Soviet Union and worked for the CPC in Central Asia.

After 1945 he was deputy general secretary, later organizational secretary of the Central Council of Trade Unions ( Czech Ústřední rady odborů ). From 1949 to 1954 Kolský was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, from January to May 1949 a member of the Central Committee Secretariat and from May 1949 to January 1951 a member of the Central Committee's organizational secretariat. From 1954 to 1964 he was a member of the Central Revision Commission of the KPTsch. From 1955 to 1963 he was also chairman of the Central Revision Commission of the Revolutionary Trade Union Movement ( Czech Revoluční odborové hnutí , ROH).

Awards

In 1955 and 1967 Kolský was awarded the Order of the Republic ( Czech Řád republiky ) and 1973 with the Order of Victorious February ( Czech Řád Vítězného února ).
