Josef Loew
Josef Löw (born January 23, 1834 in Prague ; † October 5, 1886 there ) was a German-Bohemian composer , organist , pianist and piano teacher.
Life
Löw received his training at the Jiránek Music Institute in Prague. He was a sought-after piano teacher and organist. Although he was of the Jewish faith , his compositions are apart from synagogal music. A total of 680 opus numbers are known by Löw. The focus of his works is on character pieces for piano, organ or harmonium. In addition, he also composed tone poems for orchestra and choral works .
