Josef Lermer

Josef Lermer (born November 3, 1894 in Oberwalting ; † July 15, 1964 there ) was a German politician of the CSU .

Life and work

After attending school, Lermer, who was a Roman Catholic , worked on his parents' farm. He was a soldier in the First World War . After the war, he returned to farming and in 1923 took over his parents' farm. From 1928 to 1933 he was a member of the board of the Lower Bavarian Christian Farmers' Association and the Lower Bavarian District Chamber of Farmers. After 1945 he became involved in the Bavarian Farmers' Association. He was the honorary head of the Straubing Food Office and district chairman of the farmers' association. He was also chairman of the supervisory board of the Straubing dairy cooperative and the housing cooperative for Straubing.

Political party

Since 1919 Lermer belonged to the Bavarian People's Party . In 1933, shortly before the party was dissolved, he became chairman of Straubing Land. In 1945 he participated in the founding of the CSU.

MP

Lermer, who was also a member of the district assembly in the Straubing district , was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 until his death. He represented the constituency of Straubing in parliament. He took part for the Bundestag at the conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) from November 16 to December 5, 1963 in Rome . From 1962 to 1964 he was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe .
