Josef Linder
Josef Linder (* 1887 in Violau ; † after 1928) was a German architect who mainly worked in Penzberg .
Life
He probably studied architecture in Munich , where he lived from December 1918 to March 1920 after the First World War . Then he moved to Penzberg, as he was employed there as a city architect. He initially oversaw the conversion of the house at Karlstrasse 25 into the town hall and was entrusted with developing a general construction plan for Penzberg.
Together with the architect Emil Freymuth , he designed the construction of the listed buildings at Philippstrasse 19–23 and Zweigstrasse 4–6, where the rural police moved in. They also planned the building at Philippstrasse 35, originally a commercial building and later used as an inn. Josef Linder was solely responsible for the tenement houses at Philippstr. 22 - 24 for the city council and the houses at Philippstr. 18 - 20 for the building and settlement cooperative (plans from 1921).
In 1924 Linder also planned the district between Karlstrasse, Philippstrasse, Alpenstrasse and Zugspitzstrasse with the so-called coffee mill houses (workers' house with two apartments) for the building and settlement cooperative and in 1925/26 the also listed old people's home .
Its most important building is the Penzberg town hall , built in 1927/28 , which was restored to its state of 1928 from 2014 to 2017 according to monument conservation aspects.
The former fire station in Haar from 1929 and the neighboring semi-detached house (former civil servants' apartments, built in 1927) are also under monument protection.
