Josef Meyer

Josef Meyer (born March 19, 1936 in Twistringen ; † July 4, 2012 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1978 to 1990 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Saxony and from 1986 to 1996 district administrator in the Diepholz district .

Meyer attended elementary school until 1951 and then did an apprenticeship as a machine fitter. He passed the journeyman's examination in 1955. After that he worked in his profession. From 1970 to 1978 he was the technical manager of a chemical and cosmetics factory. Since 1956 he was a member of the CDU and the Junge Union . From 1973 to 1976 he was deputy district chairman from 1976 to 1977 he was district chairman of the CDU. In his hometown of Twistringen he was involved as a local politician. Among other things, he was on the city council and from 1969 to 1974 first deputy mayor . From 1972 to 1977 he was a member of the district council of the Grafschaft Hoya district and from 1977 to 1996 of the district council of the Diepholz district . From June 21, 1978 to June 20, 1990 Meyer was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in its 9th to 11th electoral term. From 1982 to 1986 he was secretary of the state parliament. In addition, Meyer was district administrator for the Diepholz district from 1986 to 1996.
