Josef Peterka

Josef Peterka (born March 6, 1944 in Oříkov ) is a Czech writer and literary theorist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1962, he studied philosophy and bohemian studies at the Charles University in Prague . In 1968 Peterka received her PhD. and started teaching at high school in the same year. In 1972 he accepted a position as a research assistant at the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences . His focus was on literature in the Czech Republic and around the world. In 1981 he was elected secretary of the Czechoslovak Writers' Union . Since the dissolution of the association in 1990, he has lectured at the Pedagogical Faculty in Prague.

Works

In addition to poems, influenced by the works of Vladimír Holan , he published numerous theoretical literary treatises, almost exclusively in the sense of socialism and the regime. He was one of the so-called Marxist literary theorists. He also worked as a translator from the Russian language.
