Josef Schümmer

Josef Schümmer (born July 19, 1924 in Aachen ; † September 29, 1978 ) was a German CDU politician .

education and profession

Josef Schümmer attended elementary school as well as the trade school and acquired the technical college entrance qualification. Then he did an apprenticeship as a machine fitter and passed the specialist examination. He completed an annual course at the Social Institute for Social Sciences. He was a diocesan consultant and head of the office for operational and social practice in the diocese of Aachen .

politics

Josef Schümmer was a member of the CDU from 1946. He is co-founder of the Junge Union Aachen and co-founder of the North Rhine-Westphalia youth union of the DGB . In 1952 he became councilor of the city of Würselen; here he was also chairman of the parliamentary group. In 1964 he was elected mayor of the city of Würselen. Schümmer was a member of the Aachen-Land district assembly from 1960, and a member of the Rhineland Landscape Assembly from 1964. He was deputy parliamentary group chairman.

From July 26, 1970 to May 27, 1975, Josef Schümmer was a directly elected member of the 7th State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 003 Aachen-Land I.
