David "Dedi" Ben Dayan (born November 22, 1978 in Holon ) is a former Israeli soccer player .
Career
Ben Dayan began his career in the youth teams of Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv . In 1997 he joined the Maccabi first team. In his first season in the Israeli top division, the defender was sixth with the club. In the second season they became runner-up. After a sixth place in 1999/00 they could reach fourth place in the following season and as a bonus they were cup winners by defeating Maccabi Petah Tikva 3-0 in the final. In the 2001/02 season, the cup victory could be repeated and one was at the end of the championship third.
After the successful season, Ben Dayan switched to Hapoel Petah Tikva in 2002 , which he remained loyal to until the 2002/03 winter transition period, after which he moved to Hapoel Kfar Saba. With Kfar Saba, where he completed nine games, he was relegated from the highest Israeli league. He then switched to Hapoel Be'er Scheva . Fourth in the first season, they were last in the 2004/05 season and Ben Dayan had to relegate again with a club.
Now he left Israel and moved to the USA . The defender signed with the Colorado Rapids . In the playoffs he made it with the Rapids in the Conference Finals, where they lost 3-1 to the eventual champions Houston Dynamo .
In 2006 he came back home and switched to Maccabi Netanja . In the first season they finished second behind Beitar Jerusalem . This success could be repeated in 2007/08. After a fourth place in 2008/09 Ben Dayan returned to his regular club Hapoel Tel Aviv , where he played in the group stage of the newly created UEFA Europa League against Celtic Glasgow , Hamburger SV and SK Rapid Vienna . Hapoel made it into the top 32nd Ben Dayan was used in all Israeli games. In the 2014/15 season he played with Maccabi Petach Tikwa in the Ligat ha'Al , the highest Israeli division. 2015-17 he played for third division Maccabi Sha'arayim , after which he ended his career.
Internationally, he played 27 times for the Israeli national team and scored one goal (against Moldova in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa ).
