Josef Schlömicher-Thier

Josef Schlömicher-Thier (born March 20, 1954 in Vorau / Styria ) is an Austrian politician of the SPÖ . From 2009 to 2013 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

Life

Josef Schlömicher-Thier grew up in Vorau (Styria). After finishing school, he began an apprenticeship as a brewer at the Puntigam brewery. After completing his training, he studied singing and medicine at the University of Graz . He completed his specialist training (ENT) in Salzburg. In 1996 he opened his practice in Neumarkt am Wallersee . Schlömicher-Thier has been the medical supervisor of the Salzburg Festival since 1996 .

Politically, he was already involved in the youth unions and later as a student representative during his studies. In Köstendorf he has been a councilor for the SPÖ since 2004 . In 2009 he was elected to the Salzburg state parliament. Schlömicher-Thier was the area spokesman for health and hospitals.
