Josef Schmidl

Josef Schmidl (born December 3, 1919 in Steyr ; † June 12, 2006 ibid) was an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria . From 1965 to 1968 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Schmidl attended secondary school after elementary school and then graduated from vocational school. He then worked professionally as a machine fitter. Schmidl was involved as a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament between 1955 and 1965 and was then a member of the National Council from May 21, 1965 to October 8, 1968. Then he was again a member of the state parliament in Upper Austria between 1979 and 1985. From 1957 he was also chairman of the central works council of Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG and from 1968 chairman of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions in the provincial executive of Upper Austria . He also worked from 1968 to 1979 as President of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Upper Austria.
