Josef Schnitzer junior

Josef Schnitzer junior (born November 8, 1915 in Bayerniederhofen , † 1984 ) was a German plasterer .

Life

Together with his older brother Jakob and the younger brothers Anton and Karl, he learned the stucco craft in his parents' business, which he completed in 1949 with the master's examination.

In 1947 he married Katharina Resch from Trauchgau and a few years later, after the death of his father Josef Schnitzer , he took over the family business.

With his plastering company, he was a specialist in stucco restoration and then especially for the reconstruction of historical stucco furnishings, sought throughout Germany and also in other European countries. One of his main works was the reconstruction of the stucco work in the Munich Residence .

From June 26th to August 17th, 2008, the historical cultural association Alt Füssen organized a special exhibition in the museum of the city of Füssen under the title “Recreating in the spirit of the original models by the plasterers Josef Schnitzer, father and son”. In addition, the head of the museum will give a lecture on November 10, 2008 on the subject of "Josef Schnitzer-Plasterers in Buching".
