Josef Karl Cabinet (born January 31, 1838 in Vienna ; † May 15, 1907 there ) was an Austrian physician.

His father was a lawyer and his brother Johann Ferdinand Cabinet (1830–1881) later became a politician and educator.

Josef Wardrobe studied at the Polytechnic Institute in Vienna, first from 1856–1861 in the technical department and from 1859–1861 in the commercial department. The requested opening of a private business school was approved in 1863. From 1862 he studied medicine at the university and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD.

For a short time he worked at the Vienna Hospital, as an assistant in Salzburg and in 1869 he settled in Vienna as a general practitioner. From 1873 he was a doctor for the poor for the VIII. District and from 1879 police district doctor.

He devoted himself to bacteriology and opened a bacteriological research institute in 1891, where he also offered courses for pharmacists and pharmacists.

As a result of his preoccupation with medical and moral police issues, he became president of the Austrian League for Combating Trafficking in Girls, founded in 1902 (later: Austrian Girls and Child Protection League ).
