Josef Schwaiger (ski racer)
Josef "Peppi" Schwaiger (born September 11, 1930 ) is a former German ski racer .
Career
Schwaiger took part twice in the Winter Olympics , which at the time also counted as World Championships. At the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 , he finished 38th in the downhill and as the best German was 17th in the giant slalom . In the slalom , however, with rank 53 in the first run, he could not qualify for the final round, in which only the best 32 of the first run were allowed to participate. At the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , he achieved 20th place in the downhill and 26th in the giant slalom. In 1955 he became German Champion in Alpine Combination .
After his sports career followed a commercial career. He founded the company "PS-Sport" Peppi Schwaiger Internationale Sportartikelvertretungen GmbH , which manufactures sporting goods. The company is based in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
