The Josef Seibel Schuhfabrik GmbH , based in Rhineland-Palatinate Hauenstein ( district Südwestpfalz ) is a German shoe manufacturer .

history

In 1886, the brothers Carl August and Anton Seibel, probably stimulated by the positive development of the shoe industry in nearby Pirmasens , started operating a sole stamping shop, which became a shoe factory. After his brother Anton left, Carl August Seibel continued to run the company on his own. In 1911 his son Josef Seibel sr. the management, which he held until 1950. Then his son Josef Seibel jr took over. The Board. Carl-August Seibel has been managing director since 1993. In 2020, his daughter Franziska joined the company management, so that the fifth generation of the family is now running the company.

Seibel shoes are exported to more than 40 countries today.

Starting with production in Hauenstein at home, Seibel followed the trend towards production abroad in the course of the crisis in the German shoe industry. Today Seibel shoes are mainly produced in other European countries and in Asia. Production in Kenya started in 2020 .
