Josef Senft

Josef Senft (* 1944 in Hagenau near Falkenstein ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and university professor .

Life

Senft studied philosophy and Roman Catholic theology at the universities of Trier , Regensburg and Würzburg , where he obtained his doctorate in 1977 under Wilhelm Dreier . 1989 habilitation he specialized in Christian social science to work in principle from below. Redefinition of the subsidiarity principle for an ethos based on solidarity . From 1975 to 1980 he worked for the Working Group of Catholic Student and University Congregations in Bonn as a speaker in the Third World project area.

From 1980 to 2009 he worked as a professor for religious education and social ethics at the University of Cologne . In 1998 he was also appointed adjunct professor by the University of Würzburg. Senft is married and has three children.
