Josef Spiess

Josef Spiess (born August 10, 1933 in Ternitz ; † February 25, 2012 in Neunkirchen ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. From 1979 to 1993 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

After primary school, Spiess attended the Unterrealgymnasium and the agricultural college in Gießhübl ( Amstetten ). After completing his training, he joined his parents' farm in Ternitz and subsequently worked as a farmer. In the political field, Spiess was initially involved in local politics, where he was elected to the Ternitz municipal council in 1970. As a result, he took over the office of a city council in 1975, and between 1985 and 1989 he was again a local councilor. Spiess, who was awarded the professional title of economics council, also acted as district farmer's chairman from 1980. He also represented the ÖVP between April 19, 1979 and June 7, 1993 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
