The Roman Catholic Diocese of Awka ( Latin Dioecesis Avkaënsis , English Diocese of Awka ) is in Nigeria situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Awka .

history

The diocese Awka was on November 10, 1977 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Verba Christi from cession of territory of the Archdiocese of Onitsha and subordinated to this as a suffragan .

On March 5, 2020 there were territorial shares for the establishment of the diocese of Ekwulobia .
