The diocese Ekwulobia ( Latin Dioecesis Ekvolubiensis , English Diocese of Ekvolubia ) is in Nigeria situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Ekwolubia in the state of Anambra .

history

The diocese of Ekwolubia was established on March 5, 2020 by Pope Francis from ceding territories from the diocese of Awka and subordinated to the archdiocese of Onitsha as a suffragan diocese. The former bishop of Ahiara , Peter Ebere Okpaleke , was appointed the first bishop of the new diocese .
