Josef Stockhausen

Josef Stockhausen (born February 1, 1918 in Elspe ; † December 7, 2006 in Cologne ) was a German internist and medical professional .

Live and act

Josef Stockhausen studied medicine in Giessen, Jena, Frankfurt / Main, Innsbruck and Düsseldorf, where he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. In 1944 and 1945 he was drafted as a medical officer. From 1945 to 1950 he trained as an internist and, after completing his training, settled in Dortmund in 1951 as an internist.

In 1968 he became an honorary professor in Marburg.

From 1951 to 1955 he was managing doctor, then until 1974 managing director of the German Medical Association .

From 1975 to 1991 he was head of the training department of the Professional Association of German Internists (BdI). In this function he organized and directed the annual international interdisciplinary seminar congresses of the BdI in Pörtschach, Bad Kleinkirchheim, Ischia, Mallorca and Tenerife.
